Yesterday, I had the pleasure of painting stripes in a friends baby's room. I started at about 9 in the morning and finished around 4. She chose some beautiful colors and the design and layout of the stripes. I think it turned out GREAT!!!
First, I measured and taped all the lines.
Then, I started with each color, first the tan, then the green...
Then, I painted the blue and chocolate brown.
After I completed the striping and removed the tape, my FAVORITE part, I began to use a circle stencil and the completed circle came out looking a little "fuzzy" around the edges. I tried a different technique by putting the stencil on the wall and pasting a solution around the edges to keep it from bleeding. Then, the solution repelled the paint that I painted around the edges...needless to say I stopped for the day. I will return soon to complete the dots...
This was the first time I have worked with circle stencils, does anyone have any solutions???
I will be posting the finished room when it is complete, stay tuned for more...
Here it is complete...
Here it is complete...
I ended up using the circle stencil by applying an adhesive to the back of it, and letting it dry for about 5 minutes, then I put it into place. Using a spongey small roller, I rolled over it and removed the stencil immediately. Except for a few touch ups, it turned out pretty nice. I will post pictures of the room all put together as soon as she gets it together. I'm sure it will be soon, she is in her last month ♥
